Despite a presidential impeachment process, trade tensions between the United States, China, and Europe and slowing economic growth the U.S. equities recovered in September to end the third quarter on a positive note, with the S&P 500 up almost 21% year-to-date. The S&P 500 dividend aristocrats are outperforming the S&P 500 in September and end up 3.41% for this month. Especially the defensive sectors leading the way up this quarter.

42 dividend aristocrats posted positive returns in August. AbbVie (ABBV) & Emerson (EMR) were amongst the top-performers with 15.18% and 12.20%, respectively. ADP (ADP) and S&P Global (SPGI) had a difficult month and fell both around 5%.
