Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway reported on Saturday that its quarterly operating income rose by 14%, mainly driven by higher prices of stock holdings such as Apple. This led to a higher overall profit.
Fourth-quarter operating income rose to $5.02 billion from $4.42 billion a year earlier and net income, reflecting the stock gains, rose 23% to $35.84 billion from $29.16 billion a year earlier.
Warren Buffett released his annual letter to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders on Saturday. The 90-year-old investing legend has been publishing the letter for six decades and is together with his lunches well-known and a must-read for many investors.
